FOOTBALL FOR FEMALES.

"J.P.F." does not like the idea of girls .taking- on football at all, at all. Evidently he thinks the poor men have a deal more kicks than ha'pence to endure already; . Thus he snorteth: At the present time there seems to be a movement on foot by some imported individuals to foist certain classes of games on oui v Noo Zee'girls. The particular game I am.referring to is football. Theso imported, articles tell us that the girls play it at Home- But 1,, f0r one, hope that the Noo Zee girls will have nothing. to do with Rugby, or any other game of football. If Rugby is a girls' game, then the men who play it must be a lot of "sissies-" >ur N.Z. girls are noted »for their modesty and feminine ' qualities, and what is better or nicer as a 'companion or a wife than a nice, feminine, modost girl? For, as soon' as ever a girl becomes rough and masculine, then the average man hasn't got much resoect for her. It is to be hoped that if any girls take on football, the men will treat them with the contempt they deserve. Football' is a man's game, but" if trie "chummy" girls want to play it,' let them. But we don't want our girls to become half-men. Personally, I have as much contempt for masculine girls as for "sissy" boys.
