Owing to the large entries received for the championships there will be no professional contest put on by the N.B.A. next week. "Jock" Graham and Laurie Cadman are anxiously awaiting their clash at Dargiville. There is sure to be good money won and lost on this scrap. An effort is being made to get bixing going again at Waihi, and. a school for the teaching of physical culture has been started and amongst other things .will teach boxing. The committee includes a doctor, dentist, coroner, and bailiff, and it is a pity there was not room for a sky-pilot- It is just about time the sports at Waihi woke up. The Hamilton Association lias been negotiating with a view to getting Jack. Keenan and Stewart 'Smith m the ring. The association has offered a purse of £100, the boxers to cut it m any way they choose. Smith has signified his willingness to fight Keenan, and as the Aucklander has every .chance now to show that he was anxious to fight when they met at the Town, Hall, here is his opportunity to make good. No scrap" 1 would create more interest m Auckland than another meeting between them, because there are any amount of people who hold the opinion that Smith is the better man. No doubt Keenan will accept the offer because he Is a good sport and so far has had nothing to be afraid of m meeting any -visiting boxer m the ring. By the way, Smith is willing to bet some money that he can beat the Aucklander, but if the fight takes place he will find plenty of takers.
