BARTLETT WINS.

Richardson Outed m the Second Round.

More "Gos" at Greymouth.

(From "Truth's" Special Correspondent).

The heavy-weight contest between W. Bartlett (Reefton) 12st 41b. and G. Richardson (Palraerston North) list. 31b., which took place at Greymouth on Saturday night last, resulted m a win for Bartlett, who did the trick m the middle of the second round, Richardson being knocked out. From the beginning Richardson was hopelessly outclassed. He was twice sent to the floor m the first round, being saved by the gong. In the second round, Richardson was floored for eight seconds and was hardly on his pins when Bartlett got htm on the jaw, the North Island man talcing the count. Bartlett shone on this occasion. He has a good left which he used to every advantage, and his right . uppercuts were the means of putting Richardson down and out. The most that can be said for Richardson is that he was at a. disadvantage m conceding weight and length of reach. At no stage of the bout did he show the ability which his past performances indicated. This is the first knock-out of his career. The Greymouth Association intend to get Pooley and Bartlett together, and the West Coasters are confident that at even weignts, Bartlett will give a good account of himself and that the championship will go to the Coast. The preliminary to the big bout was a special six-round contest between the amateur feather-weights, McDonald (Blackball) and Aborn (Waiuta). It was a fairly > evenly contested affair, McDonald nosing a decision on points.
