THAT EVICTION.
Another Contradiction.
In connection with the eviction of a school-teacher at Featherston, to the facts of which "Truth" last week published a corrected statement from Mr. J. W. Card, solicitor, we have since received further communications from "Witness" and "Neighbor," which, summarised, are to the effect that the school-teacher m question did not assist Mr. Galbraith and Constable McLeod to Temove her "sticks," or that Constable McLeod assisted to remove the furniture. The suggestion also is made that "Truth" "climbed down" because of a threat of a libel action. This is not correct. In common fairness to Mr. Galbraith we gave the other side of the story, •which is the policy "Truth" always adop*ts. We might point out that "Citizen's" letter did not mention the fact that Constable McLeod was present fit the eviction, and the fact that he present waa material to the issue, Inasmuch as It disposed of the inference that the polica refused to take action.
