The usual hobby-horse exhibitions and a vusf collection of females and "kids" wore still the outstanding features of tho meeting. This annual affair is about the worst flxturo m the South Island. Wyndham held a very successful meeting m beautiful weather. Sister Kesris, after tailing at Wlngntut. Just walked off with the Wyndham Cup, m which sho had the minimum. The toto results of this meeting wero over a hundred heavier than lost season's. John Barleycorn, having tardily achieved the bare something at last, thero Is vociferous crowing down south. Sis Malt, as a yearling, cost many hundreds over tho other side, but, bo far, ho has not Justified the price paid for him. Peerless is now owned by Jimmy Thlstloton. Battle Eve seems to bo doing his best at last. After nil, Palisrndo was really out to do something at Wlngatul. Certain folk interested (who like n prominent part m persecuttnK tho "wooly-wool-ie«»." by tho way) motored from th« coursw half an hour before tho rm'f and placed big money on all round w;th the "woolles"; tm a consequence tho tote wa» dam pod, and tho public did not get tho least inkling n» to thejblu amounts Pall*ado really carried.
