DANNEVIRKE RACING CLUB.
The steeplechase meeting of th« above club will bo moved forward a bit this year, and will bo held on. August 23. This ia the week following the National, and should catch the northern -owned jumpers on their way home from Riccarton. The programme ia a good one and will repay a perusal. The big steeplechase is worth £200, and the Hunters' Steeples ia endowed with £120. There are also a Trial Stakes of five furlongs, Hack Hurdles one and a-hair miles, Spring Handicap six furlongs of £120, Otangu Handicap one and a-quarter miles of £ 135, and a couplo of hack races. Entries close with Secretary R. Takle on Saturday, August 5.
