A Circular Letter to Shareholders

In view of possible developments arising out of the meeting of shareholders of the "New Zealand Horn© Builders C 0.," it is also interesting to note and learn that there Is every likelihood of developments arising m another quarter, and that is m connection with the operations and ramifications of a concern known as the Dominion Mortgage and Finance Co., which seems to be a "pup" of the "Home Builders." It is due to the activities of the legal firm of Messrs. Rutherford, Macalister and Coleman, of Stratford, that shareholders were recently circularised and an informal meeting of the Taranaki shareholders was held at the office of the legal firm m question and information of an exceptionally interesting character was placed before the meeting. Incidentally, it is gathered that the firm m question is obtaining fuller details, and that later on a state of affairs will be disclosed which, probably, Is without parallel m the history of investment companies in' New Zealand. We understand that at a later meeting, held m Auckland, the shareholders were practically unanimous on the point that steps should be taken to force the company into liquidation.

In the circular, which was issued by Messrs. Rutherford, Macalisfer and Coleman, it is stated that Messrs. Buddie, Richmond and Buddie, of Auckland, are counsel for the Stratford shareholders, and are acting as tho solicitors for the aggrieved shareholders of the "New Zealand Home Builders C 0.," whose directors are largely Identical with the directors of the Dominion Mortgage and Finance Co.
