Australasian troops, played a prominent part m the fighting east of the Suez Canal, when the Turkish advance was repulsed with heavy losses. — Cablecram.
The Turk came down to steal a march Where Suoz's waters glide; But when be found the Anzacs there. He stayed not to decide. He knows that fighting breed, of old — Their steel ho can't abide—/ And so he runs, because to stay . Means death by Suez's side.
