EVERYBODY'S THEATRE
"Crooked to tho End." Mack Sennet t, the great Keystone producer, sprang a great surprise on the inhabitants of Los Angelos the other day, when he made "Crooked to the end." At six o'clock one morning, Los Angelos was appalled by the spectacle of two railway engines dashing towards one another on a single line, and then piling- up head-on m a frightful collision. An hour later a tram rattled down the main street with a girl hanging perilously to the electric pole, followed by a tornado of revolver shots. Simultaneously, two racing cars started to elbow one another all over the footpath, and ended up m a ditch. A moment later, a ! nltro-glycerlne explosion wrecked the whole front of a shop, and shouts for help came from an old man who appeared to be drowning m a lake. Then, as a climax to the day's excitement, a train tore clean through a dead-end and toppled right over the cliff, crashing to the ground two hundred foet •below. When Los Angelos got the real version In the evening papers,, eyeryono exclaimed: "Mack Sennett again!" "Crooked to the End" had been produced m one day, and because of the pace at which everything had to bo done, he filled the pictur- with humor, which is described as cyclonic. Fred Mace, tho whimsical comedian, who has been with Keystone longer than any other artist, la m tho lead and has a big share m the general merriment. Thoro is a bonzer lot of supporting items.
