A TROOPER'S TROUBLE.

Dear "Truth," — I am m the Trentham camp. On a recent evening I came to town and thought before catching the train back to Trentham that it wouldn't be a bad idea to take a couple of bottles of beer back to my tent mates. On entering the gate at Trentham I was seized by a military policeman, who took possession of the beer, and I received 7 days' imprisonment next morning for bringing liquor Into camp. It was my first offence. I have a clean character and wasn't given the option i of a fine. I was taken to Wellington. This is the time we have here. Rise about G a.m, clean up rooms, lavatories, etc., , breakfast 7.30 a.m. , porridge without sugar or milk, 2 slices of bread and butter, a pannikin of black tea. General rouseabout work till 12 noon. Dinner, potatoes, meat and a little vegetable with a slice of bread, black tea. Work again m the afternoon till 5 p.m. Tea, 2 slices of bread and black tea. Locked up at 6.30 p.m. No newspaper to read. Of course, there is: no pay while you are imprisoned. — -Yours, etc. BRITISH JUSTICE.
