TURANGINA HOME.

An Inmate's Grievance.

Dear "Truth,"— The Turanrlna Home, Aahburton, was originally intonded as an Old Man's Home, and had it romalned so all would be well, but that patriotic band of gentlemen, the North Canterbury Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, has been bluffing tho peoplo regarding economy. This is the modus operandl: When a poor natient In Christchurch Hospital cannot pay his way, he is sent down to tho hospital attached to this home, and is thus kept out of tho allowance granted to keep old aged Inmates, Now, no pensioner here denies tho right of all men to humane treatment, but as this was, and should be, tho Old Men's Home, then In reason's name, should not the young and unpensionod bo kept m an institution apart from this? Tho money given for the upkeep of this home should go to feed the pensioners m a better way than at present. . It is no use complnining here on tho spot. The divide and govern dodge is tn force, and the boss's crawlers run the show. — Yours, etc. OLD AGED INMATE.
