At Wanganui this Month. ; Wanganui is _ the fortunate spot ciiosen as the venue of the New Zealand Amateur Boxing Championships this yearl They eventuate on July 22 and 23, but so many entries have come, to hand that it may be necessary to hold an extra night's sport. The Opera ' House is to be the scene of the conflicts and preparations are well m hand to cope with the big attendances that . are sure to be experienced. The arrangements are m the capable hands of Secretary W. P. Corby, to whom all inquiries should be addressed. Wanganui will be the mecca of many pugs next week and the pious wowsers, who live m Ehren on the Rhine, will be agreeably surprised when they fail to see numerous cauliflower ears, and crooked noses — for these dear souls • are firmly convinced that such is the usual appearance of a. boxing bloke.
