FARM LABORER'S LAMENT.

"Wayback," Waitotara, writes: — Your leaders on the "Farmer Red Vedders" and other phases of the Industrial question touch the sp*ot every time. . "Truth" is the only paper m New Zealand that «eems to have a true; grip of the, economic position. I have worked for years for farmers, big and small, and know their ways and opinions well. The average cookie is so wrapped up m himself that he honestly believes he is the ONE man m the country that matters; that all others are more or less parasites. Hu franJdy, regards town workers generally as •an anarchistic rabble, and -there is no getting away from the fact that the mere mention or "Trades Union" or "Trade's Unionism" upsets him. . Though, ,^Ci t ~Jixrni hands, up to the pi'esent hiive had no Unions worth speakingrof, our wages, hours' and other conditions have bottered m sympathy with the wagps dt other workers. As soon as the i^irm Laborers' Organiser comes my way 1 shall join the union and get a few more to do ditto. •■■-■■■•
