.In League circles, on Saturday last, football was confined to a trial match at Petonc between A arid B teams,-in ordev to give the selectoro a'final insight Into the capabilities of players best qualified to face the Englishmen to-day.* After a fine exposition of .the game,- played under most, 'favorable conditions; the A team got their heads m front, and won by the narrow- mar-" gin of one point, the score .-at the blow of "all off" being —A team, 13 points; B, 11.
