Thus "Justice": Re your article of last Saturday on the flogging of the boys on the Amokura, My boy. served IS months on the Amokura, was kept up to the mark, but never flogged. The food was plain, but good, wholesome fare. I have often conversed with the boys on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and they all gave mo the impression that tlio commander was strict, but hot half a bad sort. However, lie has made a man of my boy, trained htm to flght the battle of life, and I cannot speak too highly of tho treatment my boy received. Ho got an A.B.s discharge within two months after leaving the Amokura. That alone speaks. for itself. Since reading your article I have spoken to two other parents, and they are quite satisfied the way their boys were treated.
