Better weather was handed out last Saturday, and the willow was wielded With some degree of comfort. Albion put it all over Opoho, and the latter made a bad second, only obtaining 96 against Albion's 285. The feature of Albion's innings was the batting of McFarlane. Out of the SBS score, he only smacked up 211 of it. He hit eleven 6's and twenty- five* 4's. The score stands near to a record m Otago first grade, the best being 223 made by Seideberg for Carisbrook v. Opoho four years ago. The Opoho innings was pretty much a procesh. Six players skinned into double figures. Higgins 18, Kenny 22, Downes 13, Woods. and Kilgour 10, and McGavin 11 not out. Carisbo-ook A and B continued the match which they commenced the provious Saturday. For the A team, Seideberg got 192 when he fell to Cameron off Ramsddn. After he went, the tail made no stand, and the innings closed for 319. The B team cut off. 133 for five wickets, and will probably finish the innings to-day. Grange won the first grade shield by beating Dunedin. Dunedin made a sorry show, and m their two innings they actually scored 61 and 51. Grange made 156 for four wickets, so the substantial victory can be seen. For the victors, Malcolm and Popple were top scorers, with 68 and 32 respectiveljs while Downes was a demon with the ball. His analysis m -the second innings read 6 for 21. Poor Dunedin! One man m each innings made double figures. Eckhold In the first (20 not out), and Condiiffe m the second (38). ;
