HANNAN v. TRACY.

Great Fight Anticipated

Owing to the early hour at which our town edition goes to press, an account of the Tracy-Hannan contest,, at the A\ 7 ellington Town Hall, will not be available this week, but it will iignre m these columns next week. Moreover, a« "Truth" is published on Friday afternoon, and as this intimation of the contest will be read m time t n intimate to country and city and suburban pug. patrons that there is something doing m the Wellington Town Hall oja Friday evening, no excuse will avail if

there are any on Saturday morning who missed the mill. It promises to be one of the cleanest and cleverest contests that we have had m this city for some time past, and as the light-weight championship of New Zealand is involved, Tim Tracy can be counted upon to go hard and strong from the gong. Tim has been training hard ; he has tested his left arm, arid it answers everything Tim has asked. He knows he is up against something solid m Billy Hannan, who wants to win to go back to Australia to throw the gauntlet down to Hughie Mehegan for the light-weight championship of Australasia. Apart from the star go on the programme, there will be an interesting preliminai'y between Wally Rogers and Bill Hardy. These lads are exceptionally clever exponents of the fistic art, and can be depended upon to give a good exhibition. The Association has made another^ match which ought to be a good: draw. Frank Ellis, the Wellington fe a ther-weight champion, is to ' o pitted against AA r . Ireland, the hardhitting and strong AVairaraPa champion, who comes from a fighting family, and is brother to Barney Ire> land, the crack middle-weight. The arrangements at tha Town Hall will be perfect and m keeping with the traditions of the Wellington Boxing Association.
