Bishop, Douglas plead led not guilty "to the language; said' he had no recollection of it ; and evidence being taken the above ta-tfts were elicited. A conviction wfis entered up, and when the man's rf jcord was examined he was found t,o have committed a similar offence /previously. "If you fine me," pleaded .Douglas, "will you give me time to pay the fine ?" His Worship remarked that he would probably send him to gaol. "What do you do for a living ?" he asked. Whitelaw replied that he was a shearer and rrmsterer and was anxious to get away to toil. The Magistrate wanteel to know who the man was, and "7Pec. Osborne said that he was a J.aborer and was a nuisance wherever he went. Fourteen days.
