KNOCKED BANDY.

' ■ 0 It's just as well not to ruffle the feelings of- a policeman. The other evening, just at duslr, Constable Bandy, on the North Dunedin station, was standing m the gutter m Castle-street, with his hack against a telegraph pole feasting his eyes on the beauties of Nature (probably), when a 'gentleman on a bicycle which had no light tried to get round the corner where Bandy stood m a hurry. The "John" got a hard smack m the t vicinity of Ms breakfast, and, of course, the bike-rider's name had to be taken. Seemingly, Bandy didn't! recover his temper for some time, for!| next day he appeared m tire S.M.s Court with three cases against people for riding bicycles m Castle-street without lights. The offences all took place about the same time, so that it looks as if Bandy had nabbed everybody m sight as some solace for his knock m the scoff-box.
