The Amateur Sports Club are promoting a championship (tournament' among its members. '■'--■

l A teams' match of four-a-side '(between members of the Royal Yacht Sdjuadiori and Amateur Sports Club) was decided one evening last week; which resulted m afwin for the Sports Club.

The first heat m the Amateur Sports Club, championship tournament produced, a : well fought out , game between -E. Burke aod P. Farrell, the former winning by 12 points m 500 up. Burke made the highest break— s9. Certainly there was nothing phenomenal about this effort in' a game 1 of 500 up.

The snooker tournament has produced many well contested games, and the handicaps have been well framed.

A. E. Williams, the English professional, who was recently lamentably defeated by P. Lindrum, the Australian champion, returned from the Thames and Rotorua districts last week.
