The Urban Pictures.
' The Urban Pictures exhibited at the Opera House have made a very successful bid for popularity during the week, and substantial houses have been the general order. For clearness the pictures are second to none, and the machine is evidently one of the best on the market. To-night a complete change of programme will be made, when an excellent variety of pictures will be .thrown on the screen. The principal item will be a Shakespcrian series depicting "The Merchant of Venice" as staged m London. A beautiful theme will be produced m a "Pa the Copy wright Art Scenes." An excellent industrial item is "The World's Greatest Steel Works," and other interesting films are, "The World's Ice Skating Championship," "Caucasian Manners and Customs," "Parks of Paris under Snow," and "An Incident m the Life of Benuto Cellini." A fine selection of comic and trick pictures will also be exhibited. A matinee will be given this afternoon. The management has arranged a novel feature for Tuesday evening, when a Marathon Race will take place, m which the competitors will start from Winder's corner at 6.30 p.m. and proceed to Island Bay, returning via Kilbirnie and finish on the stage at about 7.45 p.m. Entries close to-day.
