Why can't I' be a racing prad, Lord Nolan, say, lor choice. Oh ! dear, oh ! lor, it is too bad, A protest I must voice.
To know feeling just a trifle blue, * And sadly needing rest, . That I could quaff a quart or two Of brands the .very best.
That alter 'eight hours' weary toil, (With six o'clock the goal), What oh! (how could I spoil, A bumper of Dry Monopole.
But, why should I sUch fancies rear, Who slings but ink around, Ambition simply ends' . m beer— That is, when I'm BAR-bound.
Well, well, the fizz I \ must forego, I'm filled with deep remorse. Alas ! alas ! my cake is dough, I ain't a bloomin' 'orse.. \ — "Bloore."
