THE FIELDING STARTER.

TO THE EDITOB.

Sir,— l, an old subscriber, ' would like to know what Mr T. Cameron, starter at the late Feilding meeting, was doing m the Maiden Scurry, when the horse. Whetumarama was allowed a chain or more advantage beyond the barrier when the race was started. This was not the only unsatisfactory start, but was certainly the most glaring. It is actions of this description that bring the noble sport of horse racing down to the low-* est depths, and I trust that the Feilding R.C. will keep m their memory : the actions of this year's starter when appointing some "gentleman" for that honorable position oh future occasions.— l am, etc., "TRUE SPORT."
