With reference to the few pointed remarks made m these columns m our last issue anent the manner m which the General Laborer's Union ami- the Building Trades Laborers' Union arc condiu'ted, secretary F, J. Lyons, of the latter body, has given "TruUi"' I'is version of the matter dealt with. In a long statement, Lyons .denies that he was responsible for '•■ getting the individual concerned the sack because be would not join . his Union. Moreover, Mr Lyons seems to have taken a very deep interest m the man and actually got him work. This individual declared himself to be a. financial member of the C-f.L. Union, but on producing his book, this statement was proved to tote untrue. Had it been otherwise, there would have been no entrance fee to the Building Trades Laborers' Union charged,. only* the weekly payment of 3d . .would have been" levied.
