At a recent sports meeting at Opunake the Maori Brass Band m
troduoed themselves by playing a well-timed waltz, the members strolled' around and listened to the korero of the side-shows and the shouting of the bookies— then went back .to their position and struck up "Nearer my God to Tliee:" .Evidently they reckoned the 'dead 'uns were at the Seat of Judgment, and its a funny way of saying so, anyhow.
