Mr T. Barr, of the "New Zealand Times" office who, with Mr J, Chemis as co-secretary and Mr A. % E. Lowe as treasurer, so ably and successfully worked up the benefit to Mr Adams, previously referred to m. these columns, has shown, us a balance sheet of the outlay and income of the affair. From this it appeart that the unfortunate Mr Adams an.4 his brave wife were last night handed the handsome sum of £30 9s. There is still £4 19s out m tickets' unaccounted fox and Mr Barr, who, deserves every credit for his , hard: work m a goo<l cause, will be glad to hear from those responsible. He also particularly wishes to thank MrWilliams, who not only gave his "scr-, Woes as pfrnis'ifc, but secured those of the Bnajineers' Band to play outside the theatre, gra/tis.
