OUR DAILY BREAD
“WRAP IT UP, PLEASE 1"
The conditions under which the people receive their daily bread appear to have been tightening up. Mention is made in the report of the Bakers and Pastrycooks’ Association of an "eminently satisfactory" arrangement made at the Conciliation Council whereby on all public holidays, baking and delivery of bread is prohibited. Not only that! But this: “Following a resolution of the last conference, all affiliated associations were communicated with, urging members to refrain from the wrapping of bread until such time as it was made compulsory.”
