Air L. S. Drake, chief traffic inspector of the Wellington City Council, has left on a three weeks’ leave trip. The Mayor of Wellington (Mr C. I. B. Norwood) has left for Christchurch. He expects to return tomorrow.

Air H. Horton, of the “New Zealand Herald,” who has been on a visit to England, returned by tho Remuera yesterday.

Professor and Airs Hewitson arrived in Wellington bv the Alaheno from Melbourne, and are to leave again this afternoon for Dunedin.

Air Bertram Phillips, brother of Lord Kilsant, of England, was a passenger by the Remuera, which arrived in Wellington yesterday. Air Justice Scliutt, who has iust retired from the Supreme Court bench in Australia, arrived in Wellington yesterday by the Alaheno. He is on his way to America and Great Britain.

Air Black, son of tho late professor of chemistry at Otago University, arrived in the Dominion yesterday by the Alaheno, after having several years of mining experience in Western Australia and South Africa. He is returning to Otago ns a member of the University staff. The death is reported of Air Herbert Valpy Fulton at Outram, at the age of 76 years, states a Press Association telegram from Dunedin. The deceased was tho son of the late Hon. James Fulton, and a brother of the late Dr Fulton. He was closely connected with the Otago A. and P. Society as a member, as president, and finally as secretary for many years. He was an expert judge of Ronmev Alarsh sheep.
