The Canadian Government Line advise that the steamer Canadian Spinner arrived at Timaru at 9.30 a.m. yesterday from Lyttelton, and leaves to-day for Dunedin, to complete her discharge of Eastern Canadian cargo and to load for New York, Boston and Halifax. Sho then returns to Wellington on January 7th, and sails on the following day for Napier, thence Auckland, to complete her loading, sailing finally from Auckland on January 13th. TEKOA’S ITINERARY. The Federal S.N. Company advise that the steamer Tekoa left Port Chalmers at noon yesterday for Bluff, to complete her discharge of Liverpool cargo, after which she loads at Port Chalmers, thence Auckland, Opua, Tokomaru Bay, Gisborne and Wellington, under the agency of the New Zealand Shipping Company, and is scheduled to clear this port at the end of January for London, via Panama. TREVORIAN FROM NEW YORK. In continuation of her voyage from New York, the. A. and A. Line steamer Trevonan arrived at Napier last night from Auckland, and leaves op Tuesday for Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due here on Wednesday next. TREWORLAS AT DUNEDIN. WORLD’S BIGGEST MOTOR SHIP. Recently the world’s largest motor ship. Augustus, V. as launched at theAnsaldo yard, Sest ri. Ponente, Italy, by the Navigazione General Italians Company. She is a liner of 31,000 tons, with engines developing 28,0 C0 horse power, and will bo placed .in the Atlanfio Bervice. The launch of this great motor ship is another step forward in the development of oil engined ships. According to an authority on this typo of vessel there were, during the last shipbuilding quarter, a mgger tonnage of oil-engined craft launched than that of steamships. The past year lias seen an increase. of 780,000 tons in motor vessels and a decrease of 525,000 tons in steamers. Tho total power of oil engines now on order for installation in ships is substantially in excess of thnt of steam machinery of all types Thero is a growing demand for tne r 4 or 15 knots fast vessel, such as the new Blue Funnel motor ships loading wool in Melbourne this season.

WAIRUNA’S VOYAGE. Laden with timber, oil, motor-cars and general merchandise, the Union Company's trans-Pacific steamer Wairuna arrived in the stream at Auckland from San Francisco on Tuesday afternoon. For the discharge of the remainder of her cargo she will later proceed to Napier and Australian ports. For this trip the Wairuna loaded cargo at Valiconver, Powell River, and San Francisco, and was dispatched from tho last-named port on December Ist.
