One result of the disappearance of gold coinage from currency since- the war was exemplified by the arrest of a boy of fifteen for stealing a purse containing three • sovereigns and other moneys. He still had the sovereigns in his oossession. and told the police that he did not know wliat they were. A newspaper suggests .that a museum display of sovereigns and halfsovereigns would enable school children to become acquainted with coins which at present are more or less legendary to them.
