MAGISTRATE’S COURT
LAW-BREAKERS DEALT WITH' ALLEGED THEFT OF MOTOR-OAR. Messrs J. E. Staples and H- A. Huggins, J.P.’s, presided at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, -when the following cases were deatl with: — Two first offending inebriates who did not appear were each fined 10s, the amount of their bail. Another was convicted -and discharged, and a fourth was convicted and discharged and ordered to pay 7s 9d taxi hire in default 24 hours’ imprisonment. Roderick McNeil, aged 49, was fined £1 in default 48 hours imprisonment for casting offensive matter on the street. On a charge of drunkenness he was convicted and discharged. George Lionel Arnold alias Lionel George Arnold, a carpenter, aged 44, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment on a charge of vagrancy. Joseph Whittle alias Tobin (.25) a motor-mechanic, who was charged with stealing a motor-car valued at £265, the property ow Hntrick and Co., was remanded to appear on January oth.
