DESPITE TEMPORARY FLOODS POSITION IN NEW SOUTH WALES. By Telegrhph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. SYDNEY, December 30. Although the floods have subsided at Newcastle and Cessnock, and people are able to return to their homes, additional heavy rains in the central and coast districts have caused serious floods in the Hunter Valiev, where the river overflowed its banks, submerging farm lands and rich lucerne flats. The damage is very extensive. Despite the heavy falls in some centres the rains will greatly benefit the primary, industries. Most of the harvest had already been taken off before the rain, and the present condition of tho soil will enable wheat growers to commence fallowing. The damage to standing crops is negligible:
