MAKING BATH SALTS AT HOME
In this luxurious ago we have all grown accustomed to the regular use of bath salts. They are quite easy to make at home, and will form delightfi ■1 gifts if packed in decorative bottles. A large quantity should be prepared at once, and two pounds of sodabicarbomat crystals, an ounce of oil of rose, lavender, violets, or geranium, and a little colouring will not be found too much for the initial experiment. Old bath salts bottles may be used if they are large enough, but to make the whole quantity in one vessel it is much better to use a three-pound jam jar
and divide the crystals up to fill the prettier bottles later. Put an inch layer of _ the soda crystals into the jar and sprinkle with half a teaspoonful of the perfumed oil “lavender or geranium is good. Shake until the crystals are all saturated, and then leave for twenty-four hours. Add another layer of the crystals, sprinkle
