SEVENTH DAY ADVENTISTS
CONFERENCE OPENS. The opening session of the Seventll Day Adventist Conference took place at the camp meeting at Lower Hutt, Pastor W. M. R. Scragg occupying the chair. Two new churches were admitted into the sisterhood of churches within the North New Zealand Conference—one at Levin and the other at Kaitaratahi. . A very healthy increase in membership was reported for the year by the president, aud several interesting reports Were presented by Pastors R. A. Anderson, L. R. Harvey, F. L.. Sharpe and Evangelist T. J. Bradley. After the appointment of various committees the session adjourned. Yesterday’s-agenda included the delivery of reports from the Sabbath School and Young People's Departments. A public lecture was delivered in the large pavilion by Pastor L. R. Harvey, of New Plymouth, who took for his subject, “Eight Great Events which Precede the Second Advent.” The speaker said he was convinced that the prophecies of the Bible pointed very ■ definite! yto the present conditions as indicative of tne nearness of the second advent of Christ.
