SENSATIONAL TRIAL OPENS FALL AND DOHENY CHARGED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. WASHINGTON, November 10. On© of the most sensational trials in American history will open before the District- of Columbia Supreme Court on November 22nd, when the former Secretary of the Interior, ex-Senator A. B. Fall, and Mr Albert Doheny will face criminal charges of conspiracy to defraud the United States Government in connection with the Elk Hills Naval Oil Reserve lease. Fall and Doheny were arraigned today, pleaded not guilty, and were bound over for trial. Thn is the first of the oil scandal criminal cases to reach the stage of the personal appearance of parties in court, five years aftei the episode on which the charges are based. It is three years since the Senate Oil Committee’s investigations exposed the affair which shocked the whole of the United States.
