BETTER BEEF SALE FAT SHEEP VALUES FIRM. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, September 22. Normal yardings were the rule to-day at Addington market. There •was a better beef sale. Fat sheep sold firmly at late values, and" ewes and lambs ■were in better demand. Store sheep.—A small entry of mixed quality. Ewes and lambs were better than last week by Is to 2s per head. Wethers made fairly .good prices. Failing mouthed halfbfed ewes and lambs made from 13s to 16s 2d; aged ewes and iambs, 10s 6d to. 13s 7d; two and fourtooth wethers, £3s .4d to 24s lOd ; two and four-toothed three-quarterbred wethere, 22s 8d to 245; Kalfbred wether hoggets, 21s 6d; cull hoggets, 16s. Spring — Sixty well-grown healthy lambs were forward and they made high prices, from 80s to 435, the bulk from 35s to 37s 6d, being in excess of Is 3d a pound. Fat sheep.—An average entry, the bulk from ; the south of Rakaia. For big sheep the sale was up by Is a head over the earlier stages, but it eased at the finish. Uight wethers were unchanged from last week. Extra prime wethers made to 40s Id; prime, 34s 6d to 375; medium, 90S 6d to 345; light, 28s to 30s; extra prime eyes, up to 35s Id; prime, 28s 6d to 31s 6d; medium, 24s 6d to 28s; light, 20s 6d to 24s'; prime hoggets, 28s to 34s 7d; medium, 25s 6d to 27s 6d. Store pigs.—A heavy entry of mostly weaners and small stores. Good stuff sold well, but rough sorts were hard to quit. CO-OP. SOCIETY’S WHEAT POOL Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received .September 22, 7.35 p.m.> LONDON, September 21. It was announced at the Co-operative Wholesale Society's meeting that last year’s wheat pool experiment, under which 15 million bushels were handled and financed, would be repeated in the coming winter. Sir Thomas Allen and two other directors will leave shortly for Australia and New Zealand.
