GIPSY SMITH’S MISSION
STATEMENT BY EXECUTIVE NO FINANCIAL GUARANTEE. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, September 10. •The president and secretary of the Dominion executive of Gipsy’s Smith’s mission, in an official statement, say that Gipsy Smith “has neither asked for nor has been given any financial guarantee other than sufficient to meet bare expenses for himself and Mr nnd Mrs Young, his helpers. Neither he nor his co-workers are in receipt of a salary from us, and he has no financial interest whatever in the collections at the meetings. The committee has decided, however, to give him whatever freewill offerings are handed in for that purpose, and on the final day, next Sunday, the proceeds of his lecture. It is expected that there will be a loss and not a profit an the sale of hymn books.”
