WARDERS LOCKED IN CELLS CONVICTS ESCAPE IN MOTOR-CARS TWENTY-FOUR AT LARGE By Telegraph —Press Assn.—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Association (Received August 29, 5.5 p.m.) lONIN (Michigan), August 28. Twenty-four prisoners escaped from the State reformatory after overpowering the entire night force of warders and locking them in the cells. They then fled in two prison motorcars, several wearing the uniforms of the night force. Two additional cars were stolen after the prisoners left the reformatory, and then the group split into two squads of five. The fifth group, of four, is reported to have taken a fifth oar. Two cars were later found, abandoned, many miles from the scene. Before the esoape two guards overheard a disturbance, and when they investigated they were held up by revolvers in the hands of the loaders,
who took them into custody and proceeded to capture by twos and threes tho entire night guard.
