AUCKLAND’S GOOD WISHES. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, August 28. During the Mayor’s visit to Wellington this week he was informed by the Hon. J. G. Coates that he would have desired a farewell function in Auckland, but would not have the time to attend it. He would go direct to see his mother at Matakohe, and return to Wellington and catch the Makura on September 14th. Mr Baildon states that in the event of Mr Coates arriving in Auckland on the return journey from England about Februnry, the City Council would no doubt wish to extend • civic welcome
