“OLD WORLD FASHION PARADE”

The Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Navy League has decided to ignore the old saying, “Comparisons are odious.” At the Old World fashion parade, to be held shortly, the audience will be able to compare the girl of long ago with the modern girl. A bride of 1864 will walk beside her sister of 1926. Bustle and chignon with the slim fillionette an dthe ssingle. A spirited contest will take place between a stiff linen collar and a chiffon senrf, large sleeves and a slave bangle. It is hoped to include a brave man (b.l. preferred but not essential) in the parade, but a serious difficulty has arisen. Silk liat, embroidered waistcoat, trousers, even beautiful bushy whiskers are available, but as yet no coat is offered. You sure are notoriously adverse to spring cleaning, and have been known to hide their clothes in lairs undreamed of by the devastatinf housewife. If anyone would lend; the Navy League ladies a coat of really oldfashioned cut the difficulty would be solved. If desired the treasure will be carefully' guarded until this year’s spring cleaning is a thing of the past. Miss Edwin, 17D, The Terrace, will be pleased to hear from anyone willing to lend an old-fashioned costume.
