NOT A BOOKMAKER
LAUGHABLE COURT INCIDENT.
An amusing incident occurred at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday as the result of the peculiar enunciation of a woman witness, who was explaining her inability to comply with an affiliation order. The wolf was being kept from the door with the assistance of three boarders, one of whom was a bootmaker. . , ~ “A bookmaker?” queried the magistrate incredulously. . , . ~ “No, a bootmaker,” persisted the witness. ... “B-doublc-o-t-maker, ’ spelt out the magistrate before he was finally satisfied. and the taking of evidence proceeded on serenely once more.
