NORMAN BROOKES IN ENGLAND WINS DOUBLES MATCH. Australian and N Z- CeiMe Association LONDON, August 15. In Hie final of the men’s doubles at the YVest Worthin g tournament, Norman El Brookes (Australia) and G. W. Hiilyard beat R. D. Poland and F. R. Crawford, 6—3, 6—4. Poland and Crawford were the holders of the men’s doubles championship at Worthing, defeating R. Powell and Nigel Jones Inst year, 4—6, 7—9, 7—5, 6—4. Poland also won the mixed doubles on that occasion with Miss TyrCll. He was beaten in the semi-final of the men’s singles, as was Crawford. Brookes is a veteran player, who this year is 49 years old, while Hiilyard is an even greater veteran of 62 yearn.
