SATURDAY’S GAMES KARORI B STILL UNDEFEATED INTERESTING MATCHES . SUMMARY OF RESULTS.

SENIOR A WESLEY BEAT ’VARSITY. An excellent game ivas played fie. tweon Wesley and ’Varsity at Karori on Saturday. Good combination and first-rate stick work were the out. standing features of the game, which was, for the most part, fairly even. The half-time score was: 'Varsity 1, Wesley 0. The second spell was equally interesting, and Wesley, after a short time showed itself the superior team. The final score was: Wesley 3, ’Varsity 1. Scorers for Wesley were: Free thy (2) and Jolmston, and for ’Varsity, MeDonald. Mr A. J. Edwards refereed. HUTT’ v. WELLINGTON DRAW. Hutt met Wellington with one man short at Karori on Saturday, but, despite this, thfty kept Wellington busy, especially in tho first spell, at the end of which the score was: Hutt 1, Wellington 0. In the second spell the play became very keen, and Wellington attacked hard all the time. By the end of the spell the Home team had matters, making the final’ score : Hutt 1, Wellington 1. The scorer for Wellington was Mays, and for Hutt, A Smith. Mr L. Norton (Auckland was referee. KARORI v. WAKATU. Fast play was noticeable in the oi-ening stages of the Karori-Wakatu fixture on Saturday. The Wakatu backs were in good form, but Perrin, who played a first-rate game, allowed Roberts to get possession of the ball, with the result that he scored. By half-time the score was: Karori 4, Wakatu 2. Wakatu rallied in the second half, and played brilliantly. TRAINING COLLEGE BEAT WELLINGTON.

, Faulty work in the circle spoilt the Wellington-Training College fixture at Karori Park Wellington, playing "two men short, were hard pressed throughout. Irwin was not playing up to his usual standard for Training College, who by half-time had scored three goals. In the second spell, Wellington scored almost immediately, but Training College scored once more, and tho final score read: Training College 4, Wellington 1. Scorers for Training College were: Frazer (3) and'Simpson, and for Wellington. Gallas. Mr W. Keys was referee. HUTT v. KARORI. The play in the first half of the Karori-Hutt fixture was not at all brilliant, hut later on it improved. .The . comhifiation of* the Karori team Was better than that of their opponents. Hutt improved greatly in.the second half, but, unfortunately, missed, scoring several times. The game ended: Karori 3, Hutt 0. Scorers for Karori were: EutcKe (2), and T. Watchman. Mr J. W. Russell was the referee. Y.M.C.A. v. WESLEY Taking things all round, play in the Y.M.C.A.-Wesley fixture at Knrori Park was fairly even. The forwards of both teams were good and the hitting was clean throughout. By half-time there was only one score, to each team. The second spell was much the same as the first. It was not long before Young Men scored again, and after that they had things their own way, and scored five times running. Just before the final whistle, Wesley added another score to their credit, making the final Y.M.C.A. 6, Wesley 2. Scorers for Y.M.C.A. were Anderson (1) and Ferguson (2), and for Wesley, Balcombe and Smith. Mr A. Scott refereed. PETONE DEFEAT HUIA Petone proved themselves superior to Huia at the Hutt on Saturday. Petone were not long in scoring and by half-time the score stood at two to nil in favour of Petone. In the second spell play went up and down the field, during which tune neither side scored.
