MOTOR-CAR FATALITY
WOMAN KILLED IN STREET STEPPED OFF AiOVJXG TRAM. Per ITess Association. AUCKLAND, July 23. Airs Dooley, about 35 years of age, a resident of Grey Lynn, was knocked down by a motor-car at tho junction of two city streets at 7.30 o’clock this morning, and died almost immediately. Tho car, which was driven by J. K. Hale, was following a trnmear. It is stated that as tho tram was turning a corner the deceased stepped off, tho impetus carrying her forward. Hale swerved, but struck tho woman, who was thrown heavily, and rolled towards tho gutter. Sho was conveyed to the St. John Ambulance station, but was dead on arrival there.
