SIZE AND COLOUR
BANKNOTE QUESTIONED All the banknotes issued by the associated banks at present are uniform in size, and advice from London is now awaited as to the outcome of a conference between the printing firms which act for the various banks on the subject of making the shades of colour issued for the notes identical. Yesterday a prominent banker, to whom the matter of the request of the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce was
referred, stated that it was only a matter of time before all banknotes ic use were the same size. Naturally ife would be soitoe little while before all the old notes at present in circulation reached the banks, but they would come in eventually and be cancelled. The banks could not force the public to return the notes. Once all the notes in circulation were of the same size and the same colour he did not seo what the commercial community had to complain about.
