ISLANDER SENT TO PRISON. Ter Pre-- Association
GISBORNE, July 19. A Tahiti Islander, Marnno, who stowed away on the Lyttelton crntioship Rapaki, secretccl himself in a coal barge tendering the vessel, and landed in Gisborne. He was arrested by the police and charged in court this morning with vagrancy, and with landing in Now Zealand without a permit. The magistrate sentenced the accused to fourteen days 5 imprisonment. directing that he be placed on the vessel again when she leaves Gisborne.
