MOUNT VICTORIA TUNNEL SURVEY OF ALTERNATIVE ROUTES. The question of greater access to tho eastern suburbs is still under consideration of the City Council. It was decided last evening to instruct the city engineer to make a survey of alternative routes in connection with the proposed new tunnel through Mount Victoria, estimates of the cost of samp to be furnished; and such other information as will enable the council to judge their relative merits after a consultation has been held between Hhe city engineer and the council’s consulting engineer.
