“THE ONLY WAY”
GREAT PROGRAMME FOR OPERA . HOUSE, The trend of entertainment to-day is for distinct contrast, ajid there will he vivid contrast in the Grand Opera House season to commence at the matinee on Wednesday next. The directorate of First National Pictures (Australasia), Limited, will present the twelve reel masterpiece of the screen, Sir John Martin Harvey in “The Only Way.” With the period of history that terminated in the French Revolution as a background, the story is enthralling, for it is an adaptation of Charles Dickens’s “Tale of Two Cities.” Giving complete contrast to the motion picture will be the Sunbeam children of Sydney in “The Wedding of Baby Kerr.” The Sunbeams comprise forty bright young Australians, amongst whom is a very droll impersonator of Jackie Coogan, the famous juvenile film star. Jackie Clark is the impersonator’s name, and he has had theatres throughout Australia in roars of laughter. Jackie will appear as “Best Man” at the and following his flinging of “I Ain’t No-, body’s Darling,” will change from his orthodox wedding clothes into liis Jackie Coogan costume. Georgie Foster, who plays the bridegroom, •is a little “dandy” of the matinee idol type. Stella Lamond, the comedienne of the party, is a feature of Christmas productions in Sydney, where she has a large following of admirers. Other “Sunbeam” attractions include the “Beauty” ballet of nine, the “Baby” ballet and six, and the royal “Midget” wonders, juvenile acrobats. Throughout the season of eight days there will be two sessions daily, at 2.30 and 8, with the full operatic orchestra in attendance both afternoon and night. The box plan is now open at tho Bristol.
