THIRTY THOUSAND IDLE , UNEMPLOYMENT INCREASING MANY INDUSTRIES AFFECTED By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received May 25, 8.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 25. With no immediate prospect of a settlement of the coal strike, there will be a great increase in unemployment in the next few days. All the., pit ponies have now been brought to the surface, and already 30,000 miners and 1000 engine-drivers and firemen are idle. Many other industries are also affected. Tho inter-State passenger steamer Dhnboola has been tied up, ass tho result of the coal strike. This is the second passenger ship made idle through the strike. It is expected that other vessels will be affected unless there is a speedy settlement.
