LYALL BAY’S EFFORT

LIBERAL RESPONSE Progressive Association held a meeting last evening for the purpose of organising an effort to present a bell from the district to the Wellington Wnr Memorial Carillon Society. Mr B. Hope-Gibbons presided over a largo attendance of residents. Mr A. Sando stated that No. 15 bell bad been pencilled in for I.yall Bay at a cost of £l3O. Good support was forthcoming from the residonts present, with the result that at the conclusion of the meeting, £57 14s had been guaranteed towards the project.
